CorrMagnet strongly believes in motivating next generation corrosion professionals into undertaking innovative research projects today. The research activities have been conducted at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada; Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, USA; and Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore, India. CorrMagnet provides advice and guidance to the student-led and faculty-guided research projects.Current and past research projects include:
- Study on the corrosivity of biodiesels and on the influence of microbes on the corrosivity of biodiesels.
- Investigation on the corrosion of carbon steels and stainless steels in the carbon capture, transportation, and storage net-work environments and the influence of impurities on the corrosion.
- Elucidation of relationship between surface film thickness and corrosion protection characteristics.
- Demonstration of the use of Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance (EQCM) to study the adsorption of corrosion inhibitors on metal surface.
