CorrMagnet provides consulting services, develops software products, and conducts training programs to control corrosion of oil and gas industry infrastructures.
Research
CorrMagnet strongly believes in motivating next generation corrosion professionals into undertaking innovative research projects today. The research activities have been conducted at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada; Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, USA; and Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore, India. CorrMagnet provides advice and guidance to the student-led and faculty-guided research projects.
Current and past research projects include:- Study on the corrosivity of biodiesels and on the influence of microbes on the corrosivity of biodiesels.
- Investigation on the corrosion of carbon steels and stainless steels in the carbon capture, transportation, and storage net-work environments and the influence of impurities on the corrosion.
- Elucidation of relationship between surface film thickness and corrosion protection characteristics.
- Demonstration of the use of Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance (EQCM) to study the adsorption of corrosion inhibitors on metal surface.
